Job Description
Summary: The Hartford is an insurance company committed to making a difference, and they are seeking a proactive Associate Risk Analyst to join their Enterprise Risk Management department. This role involves supporting catastrophe modeling and analytics, managing catastrophe risk, and delivering enterprise risk reporting to business partners and external constituents.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Insurance Risk Management team on modeling and reporting of catastrophe risk management
- Assist with identification and communication of exposure change in location level data used in catastrophe modeling on a monthly basis
- Develop risk aggregation and catastrophe modeling tools, services, and reports to provide insights to internal and external stakeholders
- Assist the team with the modeling of natural catastrophe risk, including preparing exposure data for the models, reporting on results and preparing presentations
- Streamline manual processes utilizing various technology to enhance workflows utilizing tools like Python, R, GIS, SQL and AI tools
- Participate with the team in the development of new models and aggregation tools to analyze and manage risk profile of enterprise
- Collaborate with the Insurance Risk Team on support for special projects, ensuring effective coordination and timely execution of project deliverables
- Interact with other functional areas within and outside of the ERM organization
Required Qualifications:
- Well-developed communication, organizational and analytical skills
- Superior attention to detail and strong critical thinking and analytical skills
- Self-motivated, strong sense of urgency
- Experience leveraging Python/ R to build workflows and tools
- Ability to leverage data stored in relational databases utilizing SQL
- Excellent organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Tableau and SQL scripting a plus
