Job Description
Summary: The Clorox Company is committed to growth for its people and brands, and is seeking a passionate Machine Learning Engineering Intern to contribute to the development of ML models. The role involves conducting exploratory data analysis, preparing datasets, designing solutions, and collaborating with team members and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct exploratory data analysis:
- Prepare datasets for ingestion into our ML models
- Clean, preprocess, and transform raw data into structured formats suitable for machine learning models
- Design and prototype Solutions:
- Develop end-to-end ML and data science solutions from idea conception through deployment from planning, requirements, design, development, testing, and evaluation
- Cross-Collaborate:
- Work closely with our ML and Data Engineering team members and business stakeholders to gather requirements and understand project goals
- Present findings, insights, and technical results to both technical and non-technical audiences in a clear and concise manner
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing an MS or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or related quantitative disciplines
- 1+ years of data science and machine learning coursework / practical experience. Previous internship or business experience (1:2 years) preferred
- Strong understanding and experience with ML models and ML engineering, advanced statistics, time series forecasting. Proficient in Python and SQL
- Experience in data management, e.g., wrangling, extraction, normalization
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (Microsoft Azure, GCP, or AWS) and/or Databricks, is a plus
- Experience with standard SDLC process and DevOps including version-control (GitHub/SVN) and CI/CD is a plus
- Understanding of design and architecture principles is a plus
