Job Description
Summary: The Chemours Company is a leader in chemistry, committed to delivering sustainable solutions. They are seeking a Data and Applications Engineer to manage and improve data systems that support manufacturing processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance production efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues to improve effectiveness of the manufacturing automated data systems
- Support the development, improvement and maintenance of data collection, process control, Safety & Environmental monitoring, and tenant billing programs
- Data Collection and Management: Manage systems for collecting and analyzing IP21 data, laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and digital documents. This includes proactively ensuring data quality, managing batch data, monitoring reliability, managing alerts and troubleshooting issues
- Environmental Automation: Manage environmental automation by monitoring alert data quality, occurrences, troubleshooting events and validating alerts to reduce deviations and alerting before issues escalate. Manage environmental graphics and document systems
- Tenant Spend Allocation: Manage systems to allocate usage and costs to site tenants
- Automation Applications: Develop, program, and maintain Microsoft Power App applications to manage custom equipment data systems. This provides user access to equipment maintenance and record details. Manage automated document collection system
- Collaboration and Training: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including process engineers, operators, and IT specialists. This involves training personnel on new tools and training new team members on available tools
- Data Analysis and Modeling: Apply statistical analysis, machine learning, and predictive modeling to process and interpret complex datasets. The goal is to identify patterns, troubleshoot issues, and generate actionable insights for decision-making
- Must be comfortable working onsite at the Chemours Washington Works Plant (Parkersburg, WV)
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of a BS degree in Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field
- Applicable Co-Op or Internship experience
- Experience in one or more programming languages, troubleshooting code, and version control with GIT (Examples: SQL, Python, R, M, or DAX)
- Experience working with data pipelines, models, analytics, or reporting tools
- Must be comfortable working onsite at the Chemours Washington Works Plant (Parkersburg, WV)
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1- 4 years of work experience as Data Engineer or Data Applications Engineer
- Background in a manufacturing setting
- Familiarity with IP.21 or similar historian tools
- Experience with LIMS systems
- Exposure to Power Apps or Power BI
- SAP experience
- Strong SQL skills, including SQL Server management
