Job Description
Summary: Texas A&M University - San Antonio is seeking a detail-oriented and student-centered intern to support the Outreach team, focusing on the Challenge to ASPIRE Summer Camps. The intern will assist in planning, coordinating, and executing K-8 outreach initiatives and summer camp programs.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with logistical planning and coordination for Challenge to ASPIRE Summer Camps
- Support the execution of three week-long summer camps for elementary and middle school students
- Communicate with parents/guardians regarding camp schedules, reminders, and important updates
- Help manage daily camp operations including check-in, check-out, attendance tracking, and camper support
- Participate on-site during camps to assist with camp management, activities, and student engagement
- Prepare materials, supplies, and room setups for camp sessions and activities
- Collaborate closely with the Executive Director, Director, Assistant Director, and Program Coordinator to ensure successful camp delivery
- Monitor operational needs and provide real-time support during camp programming
- Assist with post-camp debrief, evaluation, and reporting
- Support documentation of outcomes and development of a summer camp summary report
- Attend and complete any required trainings, meetings, or professional development as needed
- Assist with remaining Classroom of the Month programming (through May 2026)
- Support planning and execution of the Passport to College event in May
- Provide general support for K-8 outreach initiatives within ASPIRE districts and community partnerships
- Assist with outreach event logistics, materials preparation, and day-of coordination
- Provide administrative and programmatic support to the Outreach team as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in related field
- Or current Graduate Student at Texas A&M University-San Antonio
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Comfortable engaging with students, families, and campus partners
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with youth, summer camps, education programs, or event coordination
