Job Description
Summary: Tessitura is a non-profit company dedicated to helping arts and cultural organizations thrive. The Quality Engineer II will be responsible for ensuring the quality of Tessitura's software solutions through testing, automation, and collaboration with team members, while also supporting the broader mission of the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Design testing of software features to confirm quality conformance to specifications
- Be a primary driver of test conversations within a working group, contribute to test process decisions for a working group with guidance from senior engineers
- Own and maintain Test Cases, ensuring that the cases are thorough and effective
- Write test cases and features with review from senior team members
- Support and review test automation implementation on the immediate team
- Submit test requests for proper test coverage and implementation
- Champion with the Test Platform Team and other software teams regarding testing best practices, procedures and policies
- Follow and apply best practices when writing test automation
- Participate in version release testing as needed
- Support peripheral hardware testing and certification as assigned
- Travel may be required for team meetings and company meetings
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in a Tessitura or TN Express Web (TNEW) application technical position
- Strong understanding of test automation principles and platforms in a CI/CD environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of quality assurance terminology, methods, tools testing best practices, version control practices and defect management practices
- Analytical, problem-solving, decision-making skills, and project management skills
- Superb computer competence, including database management
- An open, curious, and growth-oriented mindset
- Strong and demonstrated interpersonal, communications and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated, ability to work calmly, effectively and flexibly with remote team
- Ability to work independently, as well as in a team setting
- Ability to grasp new products and applications concepts quickly
- Ability to work on and prioritize a wide variety of complicated tasks and projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated strong initiative and ability to assume additional responsibilities
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and follow schedules
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience writing test automation with tools such as Playwright, Cypress, tSQLt, or Postman
- 1+ years of programming experience C# or TypeScript
- 1+ years of experience in integration technology, automation and cloud coding languages
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology and how QA functions within it
- Experience writing queries, stored procedures, views and other database objects with Microsoft SQL Server
