About the role
The Photo Desk and Systems Manageris responsible forthe end-to-end management and delivery of Tennis Australia’s(TA)Photography Program, ensuring consistent, high quality photographic coverage across all TA events,programsand activities throughout the year.
The role manages the strategic planning, briefing,commissioningand delivery of photography to support PR, editorial, marketing, commercial and archival needs. It oversees theaccurateediting, captioning,filingand distribution of images, whilemaintainingand growing the TA Photo Archive to ensure content is easily accessible forallstakeholders.
A keycomponentof the role is building and managing strong relationships with industry leading freelance photographers and editors, ensuring TA engages top tier talent across the AO and Summer of Tennis and a broad range of year-round events,initiativesand campaigns nationwide.
The Photo Desk & Systems Manager ensures all photographic outputs align with Tennis Australia’s brand standards and supports compelling storytelling, mediacoverageand commercialobjectivesacross the organisation.
In this role you will:
Oversee the compilation and management of briefs across the Summer of Tennis from TA departments including editorial, marketing, commercial, participation,performanceand more
Manage the quality control of TA’s digital content management systems (CMS) in its entirety.
Develop, and implement systems, processes, and workflows that enable the effective, efficient, and high-quality delivery of TA’s photography requirements.
Prepare and oversee the photography budget, incorporating projections and specific AO/Summer of Tennis resourcing and delivery requirements.
Drive the ongoing commercialisation and monetisation of the TA photography program,identifyingopportunities to maximise the value of the image library through licensing, partnerships and other revenue generating initiatives.
Ensure clear and consistentongoingcommunicationtoallteamsregardingthe photography archive.
About you
To be successful in this role you willhave:
Strong knowledge of the photography industry.
Extensiveexperience as a photo editor, including experience working on a photo desk within anewsroom,newswireenvironmentor major event capacityOR
Proven experience managing photography operations at high profile events or within a photography operations team.
Experience managing teams of freelance photographers and editors, supported by a strong industry network.
Strong understanding of media and editorial standards, including how photography is used across digital, print and broadcast platforms.
Advanced knowledge of photography workflows, including Photo Mechanic, FTP deliverysystemsand Adobe Photoshop.
Previouspeople management and leadership experience is essential, includingoutstanding communication skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly and work effectively with diverse cultural backgrounds.
Experience is managing budgets.
Demonstrated experience working with digital asset management systems and online publishing.
Knowledge of tennis,playersand the Australian Open tournament.
AcurrentPolice CheckandWorking with Children Check(or willing to obtain)
