Site Reliability Engineer Intern at Tencent in California

Summary: Tencent is a leading company in the Interactive Entertainment Group, focusing on making games globally available through reliability as a service. The Site Reliability Engineer Intern will engage in solving complex challenges related to distributed production live services and collaborate with various stakeholders to improve technical solutions. Responsibilities: - Insatiable desire to eliminate toil by building tooling or automating away repetitive tasks or building cloud native solutions that will proactively mitigate problems before they arise - Collaborate closely with fellow engineers, studios representatives while maintaining a strong working relationship based on trust, respect and empathy - Design and implement new technical product solutions with the SRE team and various stakeholders - Analyze, research and document new technical solutions to meet the needs of Tencent Games Required Qualifications: - Working towards a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering and a strong record of academic achievement with an anticipated graduation date in Fall 2026 or Spring of 2027 - Fluent in one or more programming languages (e.g. Go, Python, Java, C++, etc) - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Highly motivated, self-learner, and technically inquisitive - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Strong interest in developing cloud native engineering skills Preferred Qualifications: - Familiar with Linux and Container Schedulers (Kubernetes) is a plus - Experience with online computer / mobile / console games is a plus - Experiences with AI technologies is a plus Required Skills: Programming languages, Cloud native engineering, Linux, Container schedulers, Kubernetes, Analytical skills, Technical inquisitiveness Benefits: 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, Up to 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year, Full-time interns are also eligible to enroll in the Company-sponsored medical plan
