Job Description
Summary: Tencent is a leading technology company known for its innovative gaming solutions. They are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern to work on cutting-edge projects involving mechanical design, hardware development, and embedded systems, contributing to the design, prototyping, and testing of innovative systems.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the design and development of mechanical components and systems, utilizing CAD software and rapid prototyping techniques
- Assist in the assembly, integration, and testing of mechanical hardware with embedded systems and electronic components
- Get hands-on experience building and iterating on physical prototypes. This may involve 3D printing, machining, and other fabrication methods
- Contribute to the development and execution of test plans to validate system performance and reliability
- Work with embedded systems and utilize your C++ skills for tasks related to system control, data acquisition, or interfacing with mechanical hardware
- Operate within a Linux development environment for specific project tasks
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, assembly instructions, and test reports
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers (mechanical, electrical, software) to achieve project goals
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field
- Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including statics, dynamics, materials science, and thermodynamics
- Proficient in C++ programming
- Familiarity with the Linux operating system and command-line interface
- Experience with embedded systems (e.g., microcontrollers, sensors, actuators)
- Demonstrable hardware building skills and a hands-on approach to problem-solving
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Fusion 360)
- Experience with microcontrollers (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi, STM32)
- Knowledge of common communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART)
