Job Description:
The Senior Engineer - DHSE (Design, Health, Safety, and Environment) will be responsible for ensuring that all engineering activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations. This role involves the development and implementation of health and safety plans, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring the mitigation of hazards in all phases of project execution. The Senior Engineer will also collaborate closely with project teams to instill a culture of safety and environmental responsibility, monitor compliance with procedures, and provide training and support to personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures in line with legislative requirements and company standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards and ensure effective control measures are in place.
- Monitor project activities, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Provide guidance and technical support to project teams on health and safety matters.
- Facilitate safety training sessions and workshops for employees and contractors.
- Prepare reports and documentation related to health, safety, and environmental performance.
- Engage with stakeholders to promote safety initiatives and foster a safety-first culture.
- Collaborate with internal and external parties to conduct incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
Skills and Tools Required:
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices.
- Proficiency in risk assessment and hazard identification methodologies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with team members and stakeholders.
- Ability to develop and deliver training programs focused on health and safety.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with safety management software and tools.
