Job Description
Summary: Tandem Diabetes Care is a leader in the diabetes technology industry, dedicated to creating innovative solutions for people living with diabetes. The Software Test Associate II will be responsible for executing software validation protocols, troubleshooting defects, and maintaining documentation to ensure high software quality.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for performing assessments software products in accordance with software test plans and procedures to ensure a high level of software quality and consistency
- Troubleshoots and characterizes defects, providing detailed configuration and descriptions for passing and failing tests for product evaluation reports
- Maintains documentation of test operations and reports results to engineering
- Engages in test case design, automated test case scripting, validation effort planning, and team project coordination as requested
- May take on small independent projects of limited scope
- Works closely with members of the Project, Development, and Production Support teams to meet agreed-upon deliverables
- Executes software validation protocols with a deep understanding of testing concepts
- Identifies and defines actual or potential problems in protocols and proposes solutions
- Identifies potential software defects and executes targeted tests
- Manages and tracks software defects through to closure
- Works with the product development team to understand the requirements and design
- Gathers information from applicable sources to fulfill test requirements, define environments and test articles for simple tests, may assist in identifying test requirements for complex tests
- Independently assists in reporting and compiling data for test reports
- Assists with development and implementation of software validation test plans
- Develops and maintains effective working relations with colleagues in a business area, proactively answering queries on testing and following up on actions with stakeholders
- Performs and documents software test audits in compliance with test plan procedures
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to effectively share information related to work product in verbal and written form
- General knowledge of requirements and design of the applicable software
- General knowledge of technical documents
- Demonstrated ability to execute multiple priorities, while maintaining high attention to detail
- Skilled at promoting team cooperation and a commitment to team success
- General knowledge of testing concepts, SCRUM and Agile practices
- Experience with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience
- 1 year+ of experience testing software
- Experience editing, soliciting feedback, to improve test protocol
- Experience in proof reading, following detailed work instructions, and projects requiring critical thinking skills
- Prior medical device experience, preferred
