Job Description
Summary: Tandem Diabetes Care is a leader in diabetes technology, committed to creating innovative products and services for those living with diabetes. The Quality Data Analyst Intern will partner with Quality Engineering and cross-functional teams to conduct data analysis, create Power BI dashboards, and support post market risk management activities.
Responsibilities:
- Partners with Quality Engineering and cross-functional team members to conduct data analysis reports to support post market risk management activities, product monitoring and quality investigations
- Define and implement Power BI dashboards, reports and analyses associated with post market surveillance data and metrics that can make data and insights more easily available to non-technical stakeholders
- Works with Business Intelligence and IT team members to develop and implement IT solutions to support the company’s analytics needs
- Collaborates with others in Operations, R&D Quality, Customer Technical Support, Clinical Evaluation, Failure Investigation, Risk Management, Global Post Market Surveillance and other internal groups
- Collaborates with stakeholders across Tandem’s business units to provide scalable reporting and analytics solutions associated with post market surveillance data
- Creates interactive and automated Power BI dashboards and data reports
- Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, and other IT professionals to deliver comprehensive data solutions and reports to increase data analysis efficiencies
- Provides ad-hoc analyses and written reports as needed
- Participates in problem definition and user needs gathering with project teams and business process owners
- Facilitates and participates on cross-functional process improvement teams to drive operational quality excellence and cost savings initiatives
- Trains cross-functional stakeholders on data use and access
- Enables non-technical stakeholders to quickly answer key questions and make better and faster decisions through easy access to data and analytics tools
- Assists in incorporating data from multiple sources including product, ERP, CRM, and other business applications to present consolidated views of post market surveillance data
- Confirms completion of required training plan before assuming job responsibilities
- Ensures compliance with company policies, including Privacy/HIPAA, and other legal and regulatory requirements

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required
- Experienced with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and effectively use MiniTab or other applicable statistical software
- Possess analytical skills and the ability to work independently
- Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload
- Able to effectively convey information related to work product in one on one conversation or in a group
- Able to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to present analysis to various stakeholders
- Technical knowledge of database and reporting tools
- Experience creating interactive dashboards using tools like Power BI or Tableau
- Experience with extracting, transforming, and loading data from various data sources into a single data report
- Coding skills in languages such as SQL, Python, or equivalent
- Strong knowledge and application of principles outlined in Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP)
- Capable of producing, interpreting and analyzing results using statistical methodology, including control charts
- Able to assert own ideas and persuade others through effectively consolidating, evaluating, and presenting relevant information
- Experience working with large datasets and performing data analysis using statistical methods
- Continuously monitor and initiate improvement opportunities with data quality and integrity
- Adept at seeing change as an opportunity to improve business performance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and flexibility to function in a fast paced and innovative environment
- Knowledge of data governance and data security best practices
- Able to alter behavior and opinions in light of new information
- Knowledge of problem solving methodologies: 5 why's analysis, Cause and Effect diagrams, etc
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of Junior year in Science or Engineering or a related field
- Intern experience in related environment
- Experience with Databricks is a plus
