Summary: Takeda is a company transforming patient care through the development of novel specialty pharmaceuticals. The Process Engineer will provide support for operations and projects for manufacturing, focusing on engineering discipline, process improvements, and project management in a GMP pharmaceutical environment. Responsibilities: - Establish engineering discipline and practices that support operations while improving functionality - Apply engineering principles to the design and implementation of major system modifications, process and/or capital projects - Perform engineering tasks, solve problems, make design recommendations, assess results, and suggest material/process specifications - Responsible for the engineering aspect of the process and equipment with regards to projects, manufacturing issues, troubleshooting, investigations, and improvements - Determine basic causes, develop recommendations for corrective action, and follow-up to ensure completion of corrective action - Analyze and recommend techniques to enhance products/processes for better efficiency and reduced cycle time. Suggest improvements as needed - Lead process improvement projects through implementation, including training on new processes and measure systems - Effectively run projects, qualify equipment, coordinate contractors, and direct the activities of technicians - Track and report project costs, estimate impacts of design or policy changes, and recommend capital expenditures and production methods - Investigate customer service issues and suggest design improvements using standard technical principles - Collaborate with the area leader to develop and recommend engineering policies and technical work to meet project and business objectives - Ensure cGMPs, SOPs, Company Procedures, and Good Engineering Practices are appropriately integrated in all activities - May perform other duties as assigned Required Qualifications: - B.S. in Engineering is required - Minimum 1 year of related experience (in-house, co-op or acquired outside) in a GMP pharmaceutical environment - Knowledge of the basic principles in various engineering disciplines - Knowledge of cGMP manufacturing and GEP - Able to organize and present technical and project management overviews without assistance - Able to utilize engineering tools to solve straightforward problems (e.g., FMEA, Process Modeling, Design of Experiments, software development) - Able to prioritize multiple tasks from multiple customers - Possess attributes of integrity and trust, work ethic, sound judgment, intellectual honesty, and pragmatism Preferred Qualifications: - Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred - 3 years of related experience preferred - Strong technical writing skills preferred Required Skills: Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, GMP Experience Important Skills: Process Improvement, Project Management Nice-to-Have Skills: FMEA, Process Modeling, Design of Experiments, Trust, Sound Judgment, Intellectual Honesty, Pragmatism Benefits: U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives., U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others., U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
