2026 U.S. Summer Internship Program: Data Engineering & AI Intern

Summary: Takeda is a pharmaceutical company seeking a Data Engineering & AI Intern to join their Data Science Engineering team in Cambridge, MA. The intern will support engineering efforts in Databricks, contribute to data integration projects, and participate in GenAI initiatives to enhance business decision-making through intelligent data products. Responsibilities: - Collaborate on engineering initiatives to build scalable data pipelines in Databricks - Assist in developing POCs for best practices in data integration between Salesforce and Databricks - Support the creation of data products that enable business teams to access actionable insights - Build dashboards to visualize data and communicate findings to stakeholders - Contribute to GenAI projects, including prompt engineering and intelligent application development - Participate in technical discussions and document engineering approaches - Work closely with your mentor on ongoing strategic initiatives Required Qualifications: - Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field - Basic knowledge of SQL, Python, or Spark - Understanding of ETL processes and data integration concepts - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills and eagerness to learn new technologies - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship - Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2026 or later - The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames - Able to work full time 40 hours a week during internship dates Preferred Qualifications: - Familiarity with data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, etc.) or CRM systems (Salesforce) is a plus - Experience or interest in GenAI tools (e.g., OpenAI, Hugging Face, LangChain) Required Skills: SQL, Python, Spark, Databricks, Snowflake, Salesforce, Generative AI tools, ETL processes, Data integration, Dashboarding, Analytical skills, Eagerness to learn Internship Start Date: Start in 2026 Summer Benefits: Paid sick time, Civic Duty paid time off, Participation at company volunteer events, Participation at company sponsored special events, Access to on-site fitness center (where available), Commuter Benefit: To offset your work-commute expenses, Takeda provides U.S. employees with a fixed monthly subsidy to be used for either public transportation (transit) or parking.
