Job Description
Summary: TAK Broadband is a leading end-to-end U.S. fiber broadband network construction contractor operating in 42 states. The Project Coordinator-Walkout Technician will conduct field surveys of cable plant to support service expansion and document findings to ensure project goals are met.
Responsibilities:
- Perform field walkout surveys of existing and proposed CATV plant to determine scope of work and construction requirements
- Accurately document walkout findings, providing detailed routes from the existing network to the customer demarcation point, noting all construction types along the proposed path
- Receive and review survey requests, then execute walkouts to assess feasibility and develop routing plans in alignment with project goals
- Update and maintain survey trackers to ensure data accuracy and timely progress reporting
- Prepare and submit weekly status reports to project managers and relevant stakeholders
- Read and interpret blueprints, cable designs, and construction documents to support fielding activities
- Utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook for reporting, documentation, and communication tasks
- Operate company vehicles in a safe, responsible manner while traveling to and from walkout sites
- Work outdoors on a daily basis, navigating a variety of terrains and weather conditions to complete assigned walkouts
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure survey results meet quality standards and project timelines
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- 1+ years of cable mapping experience
- In-depth understanding of the fielding process with practical experience conducting CATV as built and new build walkouts
- Familiarity with cable system design and fundamental construction practices
- Proficient in interpreting and analyzing maps and technical drawings
- Strong analytical, observational, and verbal communication abilities
- Quick to adapt to and learn new software platforms and technologies
- Capable of performing daily field walkouts across various terrains and in all weather conditions
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Highly dependable, self-driven, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Safely navigates varied terrain while managing equipment and tools efficiently
- Functions effectively in environments with moderate to high noise levels
- Safely operates around mechanical equipment, electrical systems, and power infrastructure
- Ability to work in an outdoor environment in all seasons and weather conditions
- Ability to work outside of business hours when needed including overtime, holidays, evenings and weekends
- Must provide a valid government-issued photo ID for verification; a driver's license is required if the role involves driving
- Passing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)
