Job Description
Summary: Tacoma Country & Golf Club is a historic golf club that offers a welcoming culture and a high-quality dining experience. The Restaurant Support Staff is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dining area, assisting servers, and ensuring a positive dining experience for all members and guests.
Responsibilities:
- Performs related banquet (dining room) set-up tasks
- Provides immediate attention to all guests upon seating
- Takes beverage order and serves food in specified station
- Pours and refills wine, coffee, water and/or other beverages served with and after the meal
- Clears soiled dishes as needed
- Cleans all assigned work areas in kitchen and dining room
- Advises supervisor of any member/guest complaints as soon as they occur
- Assists in closing functions by performing various tasks such as removing linen, busing glasses, dishes, silverware, etc., and re-setting the room
- Any other tasks as assigned by supervisor
- Prepare dining areas before guests are seated
- Place tableware and condiments on table
- Serve water and bread upon arrival, refill water for the duration of members stay
- Remove dirty dishes, utensils, glassware and replenish as necessary
- Clean and reset tables after guests departure
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to interact with members, able to remember members names and face
- Physical ability and stamina to carry heavy trays and stand for long hours
- Possess an outgoing, friendly, professional personality
- Ability to assess members needs and preferences and make recommendations
- Stay member focused and nurture an excellent member experience
- Comply with all food and beverage regulations/laws
- Highly energetic, self-starter, hands-on approach to hospitality/service with the ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast paced, event-driven environment
- Ability to multi-task and remain calm
- Heavy attention to detail
- Punctuality
- Desire to learn multiple positions
- Computer literacy
- Able to provide excellent communication skills at all levels. Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
- WA State Food Handlers Permit (Or obtained within 1 week of employment)
- MAST card (or obtained within 1 week of employment)
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Employment contingent on clearing a background check
Preferred Qualifications:
- Banquet/Support Staff service experience a plus, BUT NOT REQUIRED
- Knowledge of banquet etiquette preferred but not required
- Wine knowledge is a plus
- Private club experience a plus!
