We are currently hiring for the position of Piping Lead Engineer (Onsite-Europe) at TAAL Tech.

Office Location: Onsite-EUROPE (Permanent) & Bangalore (for initial 5-6 Months)

The Role:

The Piping Lead Engineer will be located at Onsite and lead the project teams in designated projects:

• Leading different project teams of Senior Engineers, Engineers, Designers, and other experts in the execution of the full range of engineering works in several projects within the Piping discipline.
• Loading the team members with work by identifying work assignments from different projects that are in execution at different client locations (onsite).
• Ownership of the piping engineering part of the project work in designated multidiscipline investment projects.
• Supervising the schedule, cost, quality of work, scope and co-operation with other engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction support.
• Reporting to the client Project Manager and Line Manager.

Major Duties

The following are the major duties of the Piping Lead Engineer:

• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure completion on time and within scope.
• Responsible for production of deliverables by self and from the team of engineers, which may include engineering support to the client Leads in design calculations, specifications, procedures, analyses, progress reports, bid evaluations, tendering packages, estimations, 3D modeling assignments, drawings, and documents.
• Performs Inter-discipline and discipline QA/QC checks and engineering compliance checks on all works performed by the engineers within the team.
• Support in procurement and construction activities of the projects.
• Responsible for project reporting and estimation of piping engineering part as per client delivery model and practices.
• Responsible for projects management and people management practices of piping engineering part of the project as per client delivery model.
• Ensure maximum utilization of the team and good health of the projects.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

Knowledge, Experience, Skills, and Competencies

The Piping Lead Engineer shall have the following minimum experience and knowledge:

• Bachelors degree in mechanical/chemical engineering from an accredited University. Masters degree would be preferable.
• Minimum 12+ years relevant experience with hands on in engineering, designing, detailing, and checking in an engineering consultancy or EPC company and with exposure on international projects within the oil and gas industry.
• 6-10 years of experience in leading the piping engineering teams in demanding industrial investment projects, supervising and guiding a team of Piping engineers and reporting to project managers.
• Experience in international long-term assignments.
• Site construction and commissioning experience is an added advantage.
• Applicants must be flexible to work in Europe on a long-term basis.
• Should demonstrate engineering leadership and ownership of the designated projects.
• Must possess a strong working knowledge of downstream oil & gas and/or petrochemical units and operating principles.
• Must possess a thorough knowledge of industry practices, tools, codes and standards as applicable to the discipline, such as Eurocode.
• Tool knowledge must be hands-on, expert user level preferably S3D.
• Must demonstrate extensive knowledge of Piping on industrial projects.
• Familiarity with codes, standards, regulations, and practices applicable to the design and construction of onshore piping facilities. Experience on European projects would be preferable.
• Good English communication skills and experience in the preparation of business and technical documentation.
• Excellent Time Management and co-operation skills.

Work Environment

• This role may require working in challenging, remote, or offshore environments, often requiring travel to construction sites.

• Performance of engineering part of the work in projects according to project plans (including schedule, cost, quality and scope).
• Efficient and effective production of project deliverables to meet the requirements from local norms and legislation, standards, project schedules and quality requirements.
• Maximized utilization of the team members.
• Adherence to company processes and procedures.
