Job Description
We are seeking a Facility Officer to support the maintenance and upkeep of the organisation’s buildings and infrastructure, ensuring a safe, healthy, and efficient working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate all installations (plumbing, HVAC, electricity etc.) and refurbishments
- Manage the organization’s facilities and equipment
- Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards
- Inspect building structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations
- Review utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs
- Supervise all facilities staff, external contractors and ensure they meet/exceed work expectations
- Manage staff accommodation and organization’s fleet
- Control activities like parking space allocation, waste disposal, building security etc.
- Ensure facility insurance coverage is up to date for all assets
- Plan for the future by forecasting the facility’s upcoming needs and requirements
- Perform facility analysis and forecasting
- Develop worksheet for predicting maintenance
- Create weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual maintenance reports
- Work with the Operations and Facility Manager to ensure compliance of all statutory requirements by the Federal Government
- Perform all other tasks as assigned
Requirements
- BSc. in Facility Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or relevant field
- At least 2 years’ experience as a Facility Officer
- Professional, HSE certification is an advantage
- Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities
- Proficient in MS Office
- Knowledge of basic accounting, risk management, finance principles and familiar with cost-comparative analysis
- Knowledge of legal guidelines for security, public health and safety
- Good reporting skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional organisational and leadership skills
- Good analytical/critical thinking skills and strong negotiation skills
- Good problem-solving skills, high accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask, prioritise, and manage time efficiently
- Ability to carry out basic First Aid treatment
- Must demonstrate confidentiality and sound judgement, must be proactive, honest and have integrity
- Ability to work with team members to achieve goals
- Must be willing to work long hours, be responsive and work under pressure
- Must have ability to navigate stressful situations
