Job Summary
Works in a diverse environment with a diverse set of individuals. Plans, oversees, coordinates, and resolves technical issues to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame, proactive, innovative, collaborative, and driven to achieve desired results. Supports NIWC LANT Surface Ship Integration Division by providing oversight and coordination of shipboard C4ISR installations on U.S. Navy surface ships. Ensures effective communication and collaboration with Ship’s Force, Commanding Officers, NIWC LANT AIT Managers, shipyard personnel, and contractors to resolve conflicts, maintain schedules, and achieve installation milestones.
Telework is not supported. Travel is not required.
Responsibilities and Duties
Assists the DDG onsite government platform manager with onsite technical support to include systems, network, security tests or certifications during all phases of ships production, availability and trials. Coordinates the SOVTs with the ISEAs, witness testing and crew acceptance of the C4I systems. Reviews and provides input to schedules provided by the Government Lead as they pertain to C4I systems. Composes and sends out status updates for NIWC C4I installs, and developing and maintaining POA&Ms. Attend production meetings, monitor critical path activities, and provide regular SITREPs to higher authority. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical knowledge of Navy C4ISR systems (CANES, DS, NAVSSI, NMT, ADNS, NAVMACS, COMSEC), and proven experience in managing complex shipyard or defense integration projects.
Qualifications and Skills
Required knowledge and years of experience
Must have at least (10) years of direct experience with formal training and C4ISR background. Must be proficient in MS Excel. Must understand the NIWC Installation processes and procedures and shipyard processes and training requirements. Must have excellent computer skills, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Education Requirements
Must have a High School Diploma. A Bachelor's Degree and Military background is preferred.
