Intern - AI/ML Software Engineer (Summer 2026)

Summary: Chamberlain Group is a global leader in access solutions, and they are seeking an AI/ML Software Engineering Intern for the Summer 2026 program. The intern will gain hands-on experience building AI-powered applications and contribute to the development of intelligent features while working alongside experienced engineers. Responsibilities: - Work within Agile methodologies such as Scrum to support the development of middleware and software components - Analyze requirements and collaborate with architects and senior engineers to contribute to thoughtful software designs of moderate scope and complexity - Contribute to technical discussions within communities of practice, design reviews, and other engineering forums - Ensure adherence to coding standards and software development best practices to support reusable and scalable code - Assist team members with development tasks and technical initiatives as needed Required Qualifications: - Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field at an accredited college or university - Must be able to work from our Oak Brook, IL office (15 miles west of Chicago) at least 3 days per week Preferred Qualifications: - Academic, internship, or personal project experience contributing to AI-powered applications or internal tools - Exposure to Generative AI concepts, chatbots or intelligent assistants, AI-assisted coding workflows, and/or automation tools - Coursework or hands-on experience in at least one programming language (Python preferred; JavaScript/TypeScript also beneficial) - Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a passion for learning emerging technologies Required Skills: Generative AI, AI-powered applications, Chatbots, Intelligent assistants, AI-assisted coding workflows, Automation tools, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Agile methodologies, Scrum, Analytical thinking, Passion for learning Internship Start Date: Start in 2026 Summer Benefits: Development & Skills Training, Networking, Mentorship, Conversations with Leaders, Community Giving
