Home care and Community Support Worker – Complex care
Sydney Health & Care Services (SHCS) is growing across Greater Sydney. We're looking for reliable Community Support Workers who can support participants living with mental health challenges — including complex behaviours and dual diagnosis (drug & alcohol) in Bradbury and South Coogee.

Details of two participants:
Bradbury - Mature Female participant with Acquired Brain Injury, Mental Health complexity, Alcohol and Drug Abuse and refusals. Home Environment can be unclean and participant may experience incontinence.
Supports: (Females only - Due to the nature of personal care and privacy requirements, this role is open to female applicants only (genuine occupational requirement).
Urgent shifts available:
Monday: 10am to 2pm
Tuesday: 10am to 2pm
Wednesday: 3pm to 7pm
Thursday: 3pm to 7pm
Other shifts:
Monday to Thursday: 10am to 2pm and 3pm to 7pm Friday: 10am to 2pm Saturday and Sunday: 10am to 2pm and 3pm to 7pm
South Coogee - Mature Male participant with active Alcohol and Drug Abuse, physical aggression and suicidal ideation behaviours.
Supports: (Male or female support worker)
Monday to Sunday 9am to 12pm
Key Responsibilities of this role:
- Experience supporting people with complex needs, ABI, and/or mental health
- Strong emotional regulation and calm communication style
- Use validation, reassurance, and redirection during distress
- Respect choice and control, including refusal of support
- Follow Behaviour Support Plans and safety protocols
- Maintain accurate, objective documentation
- Personal care and manual handling when necessary
- Assistance with hygiene, cleaning, and bedding
Essential requirements of this role:
A reliable car with comprehensive insurance (mandatory), full unrestricted Australian driver's licence, and willingness to travel across Sydney
Proven reliability, professionalism, and excellent communication
Minimum 6 months experience in mental health, disability support, or community services (or Certificate IV in Mental Health)
Calm under pressure; strong judgment and boundaries
Smartphone literacy for rostering and documentation
NDIS Worker Screening Check
Working With Children Check (NSW)
First Aid & CPR
Police Check
