GENERAL APPLICATION: This is not a posting for a specific open position. We are building a pipeline of qualified General Sales Manager candidates for future openings across our San Francisco Bay Area stores. Submitting an application does not guarantee an interview or immediate consideration. Qualified candidates will be contacted as positions become available.

IS THIS YOU?

• You're a proven General Sales Manager with 3+ years of GSM experience -- you've run a variable ops desk, developed a sales team, and delivered consistent volume, gross, and CSI at a franchised dealership

• You lead with process and coaching -- your consultants close more deals and take better care of guests because of how you develop them, not despite how you manage them

• You're open to the right Bay Area opportunity and want to be considered for Swickard's growing luxury and import store network when a role that fits your background becomes available

WHO WE ARE

Swickard Auto Group is a hospitality company that happens to sell and service cars. We believe the best guest experiences start with the best employee experiences. That's why we've grown to 40+ rooftops across the West Coast, Alaska, and Hawaii while maintaining a culture built on one simple idea: do right by people, every time.

In the San Francisco Bay Area, Swickard operates a growing portfolio of luxury and import stores -- including Mercedes-Benz, Land Rover, Audi, and others -- across the Peninsula, East Bay, and North Bay. As we continue to grow, we proactively build relationships with qualified General Sales Managers so that when a position opens, we have strong candidates ready. If you're a proven GSM who is selectively exploring opportunities in the Bay Area, we'd like to know you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Roles across our Bay Area stores vary by brand and market, but General Sales Managers at Swickard typically:

• Lead and develop the sales team daily -- coaching consultants, running structured desking sessions, and driving consistent production across new and certified pre-owned

• Desk deals with precision, urgency, and integrity -- structuring transactions that work for the guest and the store

• Manage floor coverage and the guest experience from first contact through delivery

• Monitor and hold the team accountable to key performance metrics -- units, gross per vehicle, closing ratio, lead response time, and CRM compliance

• Partner with finance to ensure clean deal handoffs and a seamless guest experience through the full purchase process

• Support inventory management in coordination with the GM -- monitoring turn, aging, and lot positioning

• Assist in recruiting and onboarding sales consultants

• Resolve guest escalations with composure and a solution-first approach

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 3+ years of General Sales Manager or senior desk manager experience at a franchised dealership -- required

• Luxury or import brand GSM experience strongly preferred -- Mercedes-Benz, Land Rover, Audi, Lexus, BMW, or similar platform experience is a meaningful advantage across our Bay Area store network

• Demonstrated performance across volume, gross, and CSI at a high standard

• Strong CRM discipline and the ability to build a culture of follow-up and process accountability on the floor

• Confident at the desk -- able to structure deals quickly, accurately, and with the guest relationship intact

• Reynolds & Reynolds or CDK experience preferred

• Professional, polished communicator who earns the trust of the team and the respect of a sophisticated Bay Area buyer

WHAT WE OFFER

• OTE of $150,000 - $250,000+ annually -- range varies by store, brand, and volume

• Medical, dental, and vision insurance

• Life insurance and supplemental coverage options

• Paid time off and paid holidays

• Career growth -- strong GSMs at Swickard grow into GM and platform director roles across a 40+ rooftop organization

• Employee vehicle purchase and service discounts

WHY SWICKARD AUTO GROUP -- BAY AREA

• A growing Bay Area luxury and import portfolio -- Mercedes-Benz, Land Rover, Audi, and others -- across some of the most active and loyalty-driven automotive markets in Northern California

• Swickard's organizational infrastructure -- centralized HR, legal, finance, marketing, and fixed ops best practices -- lets a GSM focus on leading the floor rather than rebuilding operational foundations

• A company that promotes from within -- GSMs who perform at Swickard are the first consideration for GM openings as the organization grows

• Swickard is one of the fastest-growing dealer groups in the country -- ranked Top 5 in North America for reputation in the automotive industry

• Our HEART values -- Honor, Engage, Anticipate, Respond, Thank -- define how we lead, how we sell, and how we serve across every store in the network

If you're a proven Bay Area GSM -- or a GSM from outside the market who is ready to make a move -- and you want Swickard to know who you are when the right store opens, submit your application. We review pipeline candidates seriously and reach out directly when a role matches your background.
