Job Description
SWCA is actively seeking to fill an Assistant Project Manager within our Natural Resources Program. This position focuses on supporting project managers with project coordinator support, including maintaining project schedules and project management plans, reviewing and revising draft invoices, communicating with clients, and preparing project progress reports.
This can be a Regular/Fulltime role or part-time position depending on the applicant, with the ideal candidate residing in Salt Lake City, UT and working in a hybrid fashion. Pay rate will be based on individual qualifications and experience.

- Provide assistant project management and project coordinator support for multiple projects, coordinating tasks, deliverables, and internal resources.
- Maintain and update project schedules, task lists, and project management plans; track milestones, deadlines, and dependencies.
- Review, revise, and route draft invoices for internal review; help ensure invoices align with budgets, schedules, and contractual requirements.
- Communicate with clients and project teams, provide routine project status updates, and support preparation of project progress reports.
- Perform data and document quality control, including organizing project files, reviewing deliverables for completeness/consistency, and maintaining accurate tracking records.
- Prepare materials for and staff public engagement events (e.g., open houses, public meetings), including coordinating logistics and supporting event follow-up documentation.
- Demonstrate strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment while supporting multiple projects.
- Some college education related to biology or a related field OR equivalent experience (two years) relevant to the environmental industry.
- At least one (1) year of project coordination experience and experience with construction practices preferred
- At least one (1) year of experience with data management and progress tracking
- Effective verbal and written communication skills

An employee in this Salt Lake City, UT-based position can expect a rate of $28.88/hour-$36.75/hour. Actual pay within this range may depend on experience, qualifications, geographic location, client requirements where applicable, and other factors permitted by law.
