Job Description
Summary: SWBC is seeking talented students to join their College Intern Program in San Antonio, Texas. The Software Development Intern will support the engineering team by contributing to the design, development, testing, and deployment of cloud-based AI enabled application features, gaining exposure to enterprise-level software development practices and modern frameworks.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and maintaining applications using C#/.NET, Angular, or other modern programming languages and frameworks
- Support the creation and enhancement of front-end components, APIs, and backend services
- Contribute to building and deploying cloud-native solutions using AWS services such as Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, API Gateway, and ECS/Fargate
- Collaborate with senior developers on feature implementation, debugging, technical research, and performance optimization
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
- Assist in integrating AI and machine learning capabilities into applications using cloud based AI services to improve overall user experience
- Support the development of generative AI powered tools by experimenting with large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering, and building small proof of concepts that demonstrate intelligent system behavior
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related program
- Expected graduation date of December 2026 or later
- Foundational understanding of at least one programming language (C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Python)
- Basic knowledge of web development principles and experience with modern frameworks (e.g., Angular, React, Vue)
- Introductory exposure to AWS concepts through coursework, projects, or certifications
- Proficient Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills required
- Detail oriented and possess excellent follow up skills
- Must be organized and adapt well to change
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
- Passion and desire for learning and a proactive energy for getting things done
- Display maturity and a high level of professionalism
