Job Description
We are seeking an experienced SME Collections for Financial Services to join our organization in Hyderabad, India. In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert, providing strategic guidance on collections operations, process optimization, and regulatory compliance. You will be responsible for developing and implementing best practices, mentoring team members, and driving operational excellence across our collections function while ensuring adherence to financial services regulations and industry standards.
- Develop and implement collections strategies, policies, and procedures to maximize recovery rates while maintaining compliance with applicable regulations including FDCPA and RBI guidelines
- Analyze collections data and performance metrics to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency
- Mentor and coach collections team members, providing guidance on complex cases, negotiation techniques, and customer interaction best practices
- Conduct training programs and workshops to enhance team capabilities in collections management, regulatory compliance, and customer communication
- Review and optimize collection workflows, systems, and tools to streamline operations and improve productivity
- Ensure strict adherence to all regulatory requirements and internal compliance policies, conducting regular audits and assessments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including legal, risk management, and finance to address collections challenges and implement solutions
- Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation on collections performance, recovery trends, and process improvements for senior management
- Stay current with industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging best practices in collections management
- Handle escalated and complex collection cases, providing expert analysis and resolution strategies
Qualifications
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in collections management within the financial services industry
- Proven expertise in developing and implementing collections strategies and operational processes
- Strong knowledge of collections regulations, compliance requirements, and risk management principles
- Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and performance metrics interpretation
- Experience with collections management systems, CRM platforms, and relevant software tools
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a detail-oriented and organized approach
- Experience in process improvement and operational optimization initiatives
- Knowledge of credit assessment, risk evaluation, and debt recovery strategies
- Familiarity with Indian financial services regulations and RBI guidelines (preferred)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
