Job Description: This position’s primary purpose is to support the VP of Clinical Services and Clinical Operations to deliver regional execution of SunState Medical Specialists Service of the Future operational excellence (4 x 90s) and clinical excellence (4 x 100s) programs driving IPA, Quality, Access and Efficiency outcomes.
Key areas for the role:
- Regional SOF Execution – execute on SOF program to deliver high quality outcomes across operational (4 x 90s) and clinical (4 x 100s) initiatives.
- Operational Change & Benchmarking – Support local change management by using local data insights to focus on areas for engagement and improvement.
Responsibilities:
Regional SOF Execution
- Implement agreed and codified frameworks and program workstreams which deliver a clear and efficient implementation of SOF service model.
- Lead local delivery of operational excellence (4 x 90s) and clinical excellence (4 x 100s).
- Lead the governance process for the SoF program, including Steering Committees and reporting as required.
Operational Improvement & Best Practice
- Leads continuous improvement by implementing and measuring performance initiatives aimed at improving IPA, Quality, Access and Efficiency to drive volumes, increase margins and reduce costs associated with inefficiency and waste.
- Develops best practice from within and outside the network to ensure continual improvement of the base operating standard.
- Working with SLT, ensuring that a ‘balanced scorecard’ approach to centre-level performance is adopted
- Identifying and remedying unexplained or unwarranted variation in service delivery, patient experience or clinical outcomes
- Identifying and implementing best-in-class target operating models, whether drawn from within GC’s US network or global best practice
- Internal (US and global) stakeholder engagement and alignment with reference to the introduction of new or changes to existing service models, structures, pathways or priorities
Operational Change Management & Benchmarking
- Contribute to the development and planning of workstreams to achieve the aims of the SoF program.
- Participate and contribute to cross network collaboration through the SoF workstreams, while also creating other opportunities for sharing knowledge and effective collaboration.
- Provide input into the development and implement communication plans, develop content and deliver messages around changes in a positive and effective manner.
Global Service of the Future Leadership
- Contributes to the engagement of the organisation through thought leadership, positive communication and convincing story telling.
- Contributes to the leadership of the SOF team by positive role modelling
- Identifies and develops talent to support the ongoing sustainability and success of SOF.
Your key working relationships:
As the Director of Operations Improvement, you need to develop strong relationships with the following internal parties:
- President
- Chief Medical Officer
- Director of Patient Safety
- Divisional Executives
- Regional Leaders
- Centre Leaders
- Head of P&C
- Clinical Reference Group Chairs and members
- Global Service of the Future colleagues
In addition, you need to develop strong external relationships with various individuals, agencies and key stakeholders.
- Key vendor stakeholders (Varian, Elekta etc)
- Sector/Industry networks and advocacy groups (ESTRO, ASTRO)
Required or Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of Medicine/Allied Health/Nursing/Science or equivalent
- Post Graduate qualifications preferred
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar national operations role, the majority of which will have been spent leading multi-site operations
- Strong track record of team working to achieve sustained improvements in governance, risk, quality, and safety
- Extensive experience leading and embedding change programs and delivering change through people, both within and outside your line management structure
- Ability to undertake and communicate complex data analysis and reporting
- Demonstrated acumen in people and process change management
