Job Description
Summary: Sunbelt Controls is a leading provider of building automation system solutions and services. They are seeking an Engineering Intern to support Design Engineers, learn engineering design tools, and participate in project activities, including field commissioning and project closeout tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Assistance for other Design Engineers related to specific projects tasks and the engineering function
- Training and development in the use of the engineering design tools
- Participates in the ongoing development program with other entry level engineers
- Will perform and participate in project closeout activities as built control diagrams and operational and maintenance manuals
- May participate in field commissioning activities to support personal development and support for the field technicians
- Performs basic program and graphics modification and hardware applications designs
- Initiates and tracks project checkout documentation and as-built conditions as directed
- Attends and successfully completes OSHA 10 safety training as assigned
- Communicates effectively with all other project team members concerning problems, obstacles, issues and information needs from the field
- All other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager or management staff
Required Qualifications:
- Enrolled in an accredited engineering program at a university in pursuit of an engineering degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or experience of 2-5 years of related work experience in building automation systems industry
- Strong mechanical aptitude and any technical school training
- Working knowledge of MS Office, Windows, File Structure
- Must be highly organized and possess the ability to work in a high paced environment with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet the schedules given by Sunbelt leadership
- Has the ability to operate independently and autonomously and take ownership of all assigned tasks
- Ability to execute their work to ensure high customer satisfaction and the highest quality deliverable
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills are a requirement of this position
- Attends and successfully completes OSHA 10 safety training as assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
- MS Visio preferred experience
