Job Description:
The support that this team is responsible for is two-fold with concentration on core legacy applications to maintain and support processes in multiple Data Warehouses, Business Intelligence, Data Integration applications as well as be part of the exciting new world of Cloud technologies.
Our team is responsible for safeguarding our client’s data, making sure it is available and current when Advisors and Clients need it therefore, this role required 24x7 support on a rotational basis and is subject to Over Time.
What will you do?
Work with stakeholders, business leaders to influence, impact, and deliver on operational improvements, incidents, assignments & solutions that are complex and strategic in nature.
Act as Operations Lead as part of project/development teams to:
Schedule implementation of changes to meet overall schedule of the project and mitigate risk of customer experience impacts due to changes
Lead, monitor, identify and implement operational improvements
Develop an understanding of the business applications supported as well as the business direction
Maintain and support end-to-end application operations
Perform performance tuning for queries, applications, and resources across the technology stack
Use excellent analytical skills to dive into the processes we support to resolve complex data discrepancies or job failures
Monitor and support jobs and application performance
Monitor, identify and implement operational improvements
Ensure compliance with Incident, Problem and Change Management policies and processes
Deploy enhancements to production using DevOps tooling
Ensure appropriate prioritization and resolution of defects in accordance with agreed upon SLA
Provide on-going communication to key stakeholders to ensure they are aware of significant changes in a timely manner
Provide technical documentation that includes design and operational support documentation
Deliver innovative solutions by leveraging data and technology
Engage, influence and work collaboratively with Project Teams, Operation teams and vendors
What will you need to succeed?
If you have a background or education in Computer or Data Science, Engineering, Software Development or IT Application/Technical support, this role may be for you.
Experience with Cloud technology with the following experience is required:
Big Data solutions preferably using Amazon Web Services (AWS) or equivalent Public Cloud
AWS or equivalent Cloud Certifications
AWS Glue, Lambda, Redshift, and Python/R
Hive/Athena, EMR, S3 and querying in Linux and SQL Servers
ETL Tools; Informatica (IICS) on premise or Cloud (IDMC)
Very large data sets, ability to build programs that leverage distributed computing
AWS or equivalent Cloud Certifications
DevOps tooling; BitBucket, CICD Pipeline, Ansible, Jenkins
GitHub Copilot
SQL Scripting
Experience with Datawarehouse & Analytics technology with the following experience is required:
Datawarehouse (DW) and Business Intelligence (BI) environments
ETL Tools: Informatica PowerCenter/Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC)
Mainframe technologies; TSO, ZEKE, JCL, COBOL
Databases: Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, flat files
Knowledge/Experience in Windows and Unix
SQL Scripting
SAP technologies: Universe Designer and Web Intelligence

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
