Dean Connor Inclusion Scholarship Program for Black or Indigenous Students (Summer 2027)

Job Description:
As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide.
Sun Life is proud to offer the Dean Connor Inclusion Scholarship & Internship Program to ten (10) recipients, designed to support both Black and Indigenous youth in Canada as they launch their careers. This program combines financial support, hands-on work experience, mentorship, and potential pathways to full-time employment with one of the world's leading financial services companies.
Named after former President and CEO Dean Connor in recognition of his passion and advocacy for inclusion, this program reflects Sun Life's commitment to creating an inclusive environment where all employees can thrive and contribute their full talents.
What You'll Receive
$10,000 CAD scholarship for one academic year
Paid four-month summer internship (May – August 2027) at Sun Life
Professional mentorship from Sun Life management with extensive Career coaching and guidance
Support identifying and applying for full-time opportunities with Sun Life following graduation
Potential transition to full-time employment post-internship
Who Can Apply?
Are a member of the Black or Indigenous (First Nations, Métis, or Inuit peoples) communities
Are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada
Are currently enrolled full-time in an undergraduate degree, diploma program, or graduate-level program at a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution
Will be returning to full-time studies in September 2027 and completing your studies no later than August 2028
Are in good academic standing
Can pass all required background checks and prerequisites for working with Sun Life
Be legally entitled to work and complete a full-time summer internship in Canada. As a hybrid organization, employees may at times be permitted to work remotely outside of a Sun Life office and, depending upon the role, this may be available to a full-time summer internship position as well if deemed appropriate by Sun Life.
Field of Study
There are no restrictions on your program of study or discipline. Applications from any field are welcome. However, competitive applications often include an expressed interest in pursuing employment with Sun Life following graduation.

Scholarship Payment: August 2027 via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) through scholarships Canada to a Canadian bank account in your name

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted for. The Base Pay which you will be considered for will vary depending on the Campus program you are selected for.
Eligible Sun Life employees for various Campus Graduate programs will also participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance
