Job Description
Summary: SUN Behavioral Health is a behavioral health organization dedicated to improving the lives of children, adolescents, and adults. They are looking for a detail-oriented, computer-savvy Administrative Assistant to maintain the integrity and quality of their services across both child and adult behavioral health programs.
Responsibilities:
- Greet clients and visitors in a warm and professional manner
- Answer phone calls, take messages, and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff member
- Schedule and confirm appointments for clients
- Manage client intake forms and ensure all documentation is completed accurately
- Process new client registrations and ensure proper data entry into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
- Handle client payments, insurance verification, and co-payments
- Assist in managing the flow of clients and visitors to ensure minimal wait times
- Communicate effectively with clinical staff to ensure timely client services
- Ensure confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations in all interactions
- Perform other administrative duties as needed to support the operation of the agency
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree
- Previous experience in a receptionist or customer service role, preferably in a healthcare or mental health setting
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment
- A compassionate and empathetic demeanor with clients
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards
- Ability to work well in a team and contribute to a positive office environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
