Job Description
Summary: Stryker is a global leader in medical technology seeking to expand their talent through internships. The role involves working with cross-functional teams in Research & Development to identify needs and goals for future products, utilizing technical education to design new products from concept to production.
Responsibilities:
- Impact the development and manufacturing of cutting edge products
- Gain experience within a fast paced and growing industry
- Apply classroom knowledge in a fast-paced and growing industry setting
- Implement new ideas, be constantly challenged, and develop your skills
- Research new technologies, customer expectations, business requirements and regulations
- Work with a variety of tools, including CAD, FEA, and Test Labs to develop new product concepts
- Utilize technical education to design new products and drive them from concept to production
Required Qualifications:
- Currently working on completion of Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent; we will only consider students who plan be enrolled in a degree-seeking program after the summer
- Cumulative 3.0 GPA or above; must be the case at the date of hire and also will be verified during background check in the spring
- Must be permanent resident of the U.S. or U.S. citizen
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
- Ability to exercise independent judgment
- Proficient on basic computer programs: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Proven leadership and business acumen skills
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Desire to do hands-on testing/troubleshooting of circuits
- Ability to document design decisions and create testing strategies that verify functionality
- Demonstrated ability to operate small hand tools (e.g. pliers, screwdrivers, hammer, wrenches, etc.), power tools and test/inspection equipment
- Demonstrated mechanical/electrical problem solving skills
- Design engineering, or related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with circuit design layout
- Electronics trouble shooting experience
- Familiarity with PCBA, CAD tools (e.g. Altium)
