#Role & responsibilities

A. Finishing Works Execution (Primary Responsibility)

• Execute and supervise all finishing activities including internal and external plastering, tiling, flooring, POP/gypsum punning, false ceiling, painting, waterproofing and final finishes.
• Ensure correct line, level, plumb, alignment, slope and surface finish across all executed work.
• Supervise door and window fixing (wooden, aluminium, uPVC), joinery, railing, glazing and hardware installation.
• Coordinate tile layout, skirting, dado, grouting and joint alignment as per approved patterns and drawings.
• Supervise application of putty, primer and paint coats, including texture and special finishes where specified.
• Coordinate sanitary fixtures, CP fittings, counters and fixture cut-outs with the MEP and plumbing teams.
• Execute mock-ups and sample units for client/architect approval before full-scale rollout.
• Maintain the finishing sequence across trades so that completed surfaces are not damaged by subsequent activities.

Why this differs from a general site engineer band: Finishing is judgement-heavy. Recognising a shade variation, an off-level tile bed, or a plaster surface that will crack after painting comes from having seen it go wrong. A fresher can be trained on structure execution far more easily than on finishing quality control.

Preferred candidate profile

Stride Infra is looking for a finishing-focused civil engineer who takes personal ownership of how the completed work looks and performs. The defining requirement is an eye for detail — the ability to spot an off-level surface, a misaligned joint, a shade variation or a poor edge before it becomes rework.

The ideal candidate reads architectural and interior detail drawings confidently, understands the correct sequence of finishing trades, and can keep multiple contractors working in parallel without damaging completed surfaces. They should be comfortable driving snag lists to closure, holding contractors to quality standards, and coordinating with MEP and plumbing teams so that cut-outs and levels are resolved before surfaces are closed.

They should maintain accurate measurement and progress records, be comfortable with MS Excel and basic AutoCAD, and control material wastage — which runs significantly higher in finishing than in structural work. Above all, they should be persistent about quality, since finishing is the part of the project the client actually sees and evaluates.
