Summary: Strattec Security Corporation is a leading manufacturer in the automotive industry, known for its innovative security and power access products. They are seeking a motivated Summer Intern to join their procurement team, providing hands-on experience in supplier research, data analysis, and vendor management. Responsibilities: - Assist in identifying potential vendors, conducting market research, and performing supplier risk assessments - Help prepare and distribute Request for Proposals (RFP), Request for Quotations (RFQ), and Request for Information (RFI) documents - Analyze spend data, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and maintain procurement dashboards to identify cost-saving opportunities - Process purchase orders (POs), track deliveries, resolve shipping discrepancies, and update inventory records - Maintain contract files, track expiration dates for renewals, and assist with compliance documentation - Coordinate with suppliers to resolve invoice issues and maintain updated vendor databases (e.g., in SAP or Oracle) Required Qualifications: - Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Logistics, or related field - Basic understanding of procurement, supply chain, or business operations (coursework counts) - Strong analytical skills — able to work with data, compare vendors, evaluate costs - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables are a plus) - Strong communication skills, written and verbal - Attention to detail and accuracy when handling purchase orders or contracts - Organizational skills — ability to manage multiple requests at once - Basic knowledge of: Purchasing processes - Basic knowledge of: Vendor evaluation - Basic knowledge of: Contract terminology - Basic knowledge of: Inventory management Preferred Qualifications: - Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Coupa, etc.) is a plus but not required Required Skills: Supply Chain Management, Analytical Skills, Microsoft Excel Important Skills: ERP Systems
