Summary: Strattec Security Corporation is a well-established company that designs and manufactures products for the automotive industry. They are seeking a motivated Summer Intern to join their IT Infrastructure team, providing hands-on experience while supporting various IT projects and departmental activities. Responsibilities: - Assist in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware and software systems - Support IT team in daily operational tasks, including system updates and network management - Assist in the development and implementation of new IT solutions and projects - Provide technical support to staff and clients with IT-related issues - Participate in the documentation of IT procedures and processes - Conduct research on emerging technologies to support IT initiatives - Collaborate with team members on various IT projects and tasks Required Qualifications: - Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Associate degree in: Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Networking, or a related field - Basic understanding of computer hardware and operating systems (Windows required; Linux a plus) - Familiarity with common IT concepts such as: User accounts and permissions, Networking fundamentals (IP, DNS, DHCP – conceptual level), Software installation and troubleshooting - Ability to follow written procedures and document work clearly - Strong customer service mindset and professional communication skills - Reliable attendance and willingness to learn in a structured IT environment Preferred Qualifications: - Hands-on experience from: Coursework labs, Personal/home lab projects, Previous internship, help desk, or technical support role - Exposure to one or more of the following: Active Directory or Azure AD (basic user/group concepts), Microsoft 365 / Office 365 administration, Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, VirtualBox), Basic scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) - Understanding of IT security basics (passwords, MFA, patching, least privilege) - Enrollment in or interest in certifications such as: CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Fundamentals Required Skills: Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Networking Important Skills: Windows, Networking fundamentals, Software troubleshooting, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Virtualization, Basic scripting, IT security basics Nice-to-Have Skills: Linux, CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Fundamentals, Customer service
