MARKET BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST

Position General Responsibilities:
Responsible for extensive customer contact that includes processing customer transactions and selling additional Bank products while protecting Bank assets. It requires extensive product knowledge to support frequent customer contact in the development of new business through the servicing of requests, calling on existing customers, identifying and calling on potential customers and representing the Bank in community activities.
Education, Experience and Certification Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or equivalent education/work experience.
2. Two-four years previous financial institution/customer service experience
3. Good interpersonal/team skills with ability to develop effective working relationships.
4. Strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
5. Previous personal/computer experience.
6. A valid driver’s license
Preferred:
1.Previous Bank Operations knowledge and skills.
Position Specific Responsibilities, Duties and Competencies
New Account/Sales/Service:
1. Maintain an extensive knowledge of deposits, loans and non-deposit services by studying product information, bulletins, regulations and updates. Attend periodic training sessions and stay abreast of new procedures, marketing techniques, rules and regulations.
2. Sell multiple financial products and services to new and existing customers by assessing customer needs and determining which financial services best satisfy those needs. Products include all deposit products, financing options, and related service products.
3. Identify sales opportunities and cross-sell other Bank services as they arise. Refer business consistently.
4. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with market-based CSRs while identifying and referring prospective customers for new account openings and related banking services.
5. Foster collaborative relationships with eBiz Specialists, support staff, and the Small Business Banking department. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all electronic business banking products and services, including Small Business Banking and eBiz solutions, to assist with the implementation of new services and the timely resolution of customer issues.
6. Develop an understanding of loan products and services to effectively match customer needs with lending solutions and facilitate referrals to lenders.
7. Refer potential clients to Stockman Wealth Management and Stockman Insurance.
Sales/Public Relations/New Business Development:
1. Identify prospective clients and solicit new business including borrowing and depositor relationships.
2. Thoroughly understand all Bank deposit, non-deposit and loan products with the ability to cross sell to new and existing customers.
3. Maintain knowledge of competitors’ products and prices and governmental agency programs and prices.
4. Develop, implement, and maintain an effective calling program to strengthen customer relationships, identify business opportunities, and support growth objectives.
5. Participate in community events and organizations – leverage participation to generate new business for the Bank.
6. Promote the improvement of Stockman Bank through quality customer service, knowledge of products, professionalism in conduct, and diligent work ethic.
7. Greet all customers pleasantly and make them feel welcome and comfortable.
8. Effectively handle customer questions and problems.
9. Use effective listening and observing skills to help identify and resolve customer needs.
10. Identify sales opportunities and refer business consistently to other departments.
11. Cross-sell other services whenever the opportunity arises.
12. Keep up to date on pricing and products.
13. Relay customer comments and or complaints to the Market President and/or Operations Officer immediately.
Customer Service
1. Manage relationships with new business customers throughout the onboarding process to ensure a seamless transition and positive experience with the Bank.
2. Serve as a liaison between departments including New Accounts, Loan and eBiz departments, to ensure customer needs are met in a timely manner.
3. Partner with customers and internal teams to promptly identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues involving Small Business Banking, eBiz products, and ancillary banking services.
4. Assist new clients through the log in process and familiarize them with the functions within Small Business Banking or eBiz platforms.
Other Duties
1. Travel to branches throughout the market to support business development efforts, strengthen customer relationships, and promote business banking products and services.
2. Prepare, customize, and deliver presentations, proposals, and responses to requests for proposals (RFPs) that align business banking solutions with customer needs.
3. Collaborate with the Southwestern Montana Market President, Branch Managers, and Operations Officer on special projects, strategic initiatives, and market development activities as needed.
4. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.

Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures that apply to and concern this position’s area of responsibility, including general regulations such as the Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and various other Federal and State regulations as they apply.
