Job Description
Summary: Stifel Financial Corp. is a global wealth management and investment banking firm with over 130 years of experience. They are seeking an Information Systems Intern to perform a variety of administrative duties and assist the Development team while gaining an understanding of the business processes and applications.
Responsibilities:
- Under immediate supervision, the Intern will represent Stifel by performing a wide variety of complex and confidential administrative duties in support of the functional area
- This position will have the opportunity to work in other service areas and develop professionally by contributing to projects that support the business
- Develop an understanding of the Stifel business, data models and development technology
- Field inbound requests from business users and product management and refine requirements until a full understanding is reached on the process being analyzed
- Ability to use logic and reasoning when assessing business requirements
- Assist the Development team in various phases of development, including design, implementation, integration and revision control
- Perform limited due diligence to ensure quality and accuracy
- Work according to standards and practices set by Project and Development managers or senior team members
- Gain an understanding of company applications and business practices in the context of how they affect the customer and the business process
- Research best practices and supports developing the solutions and recommendations for the business areas as identified
Required Qualifications:

- Basic understanding of financial industry terminology and concepts
- Ability to take a problem and research it from beginning to end creating detailed documentation
- Strong analytical skills focused on using logic, reasoning, and data to identify complex relationships as well as to research and discuss recommended uses
- Introductory development skills and desire to learn
- Pursuing a degree in Finance, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Business with at least one year of college completed preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with office productivity, reporting, and technical documentation software such as Excel, Powerpoint, and Google Drive applications
- Experience with development technologies such as C#/.NET, or relevant Java/C++, JavaScript Libraries/Frameworks (Angular, jQuery), python
- Experience with relational databases and SQL
- Exposure to C#/.NET, or relevant Java/C++ or equivalent relational database systems
- Experience with JavaScript Libraries/Frameworks (Angular, jQuery)
