Job Description
Summary: State Street is one of the largest custodian banks and asset managers in the world, and they are seeking an incoming Co-op to assist in the underwriting of Collateralized Loan Obligations and Private Credit Facilities. The role involves credit analysis, portfolio surveillance, and reporting, while providing support for underwriting and loan documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Involvement with a wide range of activities related to credit analysis, portfolio surveillance, and reporting
- Assist with underwriting, due diligence, and legal documentation of new and existing loans
- Maintain the deal pipeline and compliance documentation
- Oversee loan closings by coordinating with internal and external parties
- Work closely with team to continue to develop industry knowledge as well as underwriting and portfolio management skills
- May also be relied upon to handle assigned projects
Required Qualifications:
- Positive attitude and strong quantitative skills
- Ability to work effectively with stakeholders to assist in the underwriting of Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLOs) and Private Credit (BDC and Direct Lending) Facilities
- Involvement with a wide range of activities related to credit analysis, portfolio surveillance, and reporting
- Assist with underwriting, due diligence, and legal documentation of new and existing loans
- Maintain the deal pipeline and compliance documentation
- Oversee loan closings by coordinating with internal and external parties
- Work closely with team to continue to develop industry knowledge as well as underwriting and portfolio management skills
- Detail-oriented, with strong communication, and organization skills
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple deliverables simultaneously
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
- Team player with a positive attitude and desire to learn
- Interest of credit markets, loan structuring, and legal documentation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of securitizations, private equity, or private debt
- Pursuing Business, Economics, Finance or Liberal Arts
