Job Description
Summary: The State of South Dakota is seeking an intern for the Behavioral Health Workforce Development and Promotions Team. The intern will assist in coordinating training and clinical service provision activities while gaining valuable experience in mental health and substance use initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Work primarily with the team in the coordination of training and clinical service provision activities of the Division
- Duties related to training will include training scheduling and registration, information materials inventory management, and data entry to monitor the effectiveness of trainings delivered
- Duties related to clinical services will include data entry and analysis
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Applicant must be a current part-time or full-time student (minimum of 6 credit hours) in upcoming semester or in the immediately preceding semester
- By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program
- Strong critical thinking and evaluation skills
- Effective communication abilities
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access and other Microsoft programs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Coursework or experience related to macro level behavioral health service delivery
- Research methods
- Statistics
- Behavioral health treatment
- Standing of junior/senior
- South Dakota residents
- Students of South Dakota institutions
