Job Description
Summary: The State of Oklahoma is seeking a Systems Analyst to join the Office of Management and Enterprise Services. This role involves implementing computer system requirements, developing standardized tests, and providing training and support to both technical and non-technical staff.
Responsibilities:
- Works with assigned staff in the development of new applications, databases or system operations
- Troubleshoots system problems by reviewing output, project reports, service requests, and other documentation
- Evaluates system performance and operation, requirements for new applications, and other requirements
- Confers with stakeholders to identify problems by evaluating procedures and processes
- Develops solutions by preparing and evaluating alternative workflows
- Validates results by testing programs or processes
- Trains client personnel and provides system support
- Provides written documentation according to OMES design methodologies
- Consults with users to identify data processing requirements
- Makes recommendations on the purchase of new equipment or software
- Reviews and evaluates technical literature and other information concerning changes in technology
- Participates in long-range planning to evaluate costs, availability, alternatives and other factors
- Participates in architecture and software development activities
- Develops and executes manual and automated test plans for new and existing features
- Identifies defects and verifies fixes for production support issues
- Documents defects with clear and concise reproduction information
- Proactively contributes ideas for new features and identifying areas for improvement
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business or related discipline
- 1 year of experience in analytics or an IT-related field or five years of experience in analytics or IT related field
- Equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of experience for each year of required education
