Job Description
Summary: The State of Oklahoma is dedicated to providing exceptional government services and is seeking an Attorney I for Service Oklahoma. This position involves professional legal representation primarily in implied consent litigation and requires legal research and representation in related areas of driver license and motor vehicle services.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including but not limited to those specific to Service Oklahoma
- Prepares various briefs, pleadings, motions, petitions, and other legal documents
- Assembles legal materials, agency data, documents, and pleadings for court cases
- Ensures that deadlines are met for filing various court actions
- Participates in all aspects of litigation
- Provides management with advice and work product exhibiting knowledge, insight, and understanding of relevant law and facts
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in the State of Oklahoma
- Minimum one (1) year legal experience as a licensed attorney
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to draft clear and concise legal documents, and correspondence
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts to diverse audiences in a clear and persuasive manner
- Uncompromising ethical standards with a commitment to upholding the highest levels of integrity and professionalism in all aspects of the role
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities and circumstances
- Resilience in the face of challenges, with the ability to maintain composure under pressure and navigate ambiguity with confidence
- Ability to perform independent research, analysis, and application of legal principles, facts, and precedents
