Job Description
Summary: The Florida Department of Children and Families is the state’s social services agency providing various services. They are seeking a Distributed Computer Systems Specialist to provide IT desktop support, including hardware and software assistance, and maintain network systems for the Economic Self-Sufficiency Program.
Responsibilities:
- Provide hardware and software support to multiple end-users within the DCF
- Install, configure, and support an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and internet system or a segment of a network system
- Maintain network hardware and software, monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users
- Perform necessary maintenance to support network availability
- Assist other network support and client server specialists to plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures
Required Qualifications:
- At least one year of experience in computer hardware, software and networking systems, and troubleshooting/problem solving
- At least one year of experience supporting Windows 11 or newer operating system and compatible applications
- Experience in an IT Support Environment
- Ability to navigate tight spaces which may involve a combination of kneeling, crawling, bending, stooping, climbing ladders, and/or reaching
- Ability to lift 30 pounds to conduct work assignments
- Valid Driver License
- Possession and willingness to operate private vehicle for use in performance of daily work activities
- Working outside normal business hours to complete daily work activities
Preferred Qualifications:
- CompTIAA+, CompTIANetwork, CompTIASecurity
- Experience working in an Information Technology (IT) environment in either a field-based support capacity or a call center capacity
- Experience with email systems
- Experience working with ticketing system applications
- Experience working in a fast-paced customer service-oriented environment
- College or trade school education in IT field from an accredited college or university, or 30 semester credit hours to substitute for year-for-year work experience. School diploma or official transcript documents are required
