Summary: State Farm Agent is seeking an Insurance Sales Representative to support its agency in serving prospects and existing customers. The role focuses on understanding customer needs, recommending insurance products, generating and following up on leads, providing quotes, processing applications, maintaining records, delivering customer service, and supporting retention and local marketing efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Engaging with prospects and existing customers to understand their needs, explain insurance options, and recommend suitable products such as auto, home, life, and other lines of coverage
- Generating and following up on leads
- Providing personalized quotes
- Processing applications
- Maintaining accurate records in agency systems
- The representative will deliver high-quality customer service, handle inquiries, assist with policy changes, and support retention activities
- Participating in local marketing efforts
- Contributing to office goals
- Collaborating with team members to create a positive, customer-focused environment
Required Qualifications:
- Candidates should possess strong Customer Service skills, with a focus on building relationships, resolving concerns, and delivering clear, empathetic communication
- Candidates should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal skills to engage confidently with diverse customers
- Candidates should demonstrate self-motivation, goal orientation, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced office setting
- Candidates should have solid organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail when handling documentation and customer information
Preferred Qualifications:
- Min. 1 Year of Sales experience (outside sales or inside sales representative, retail sales associate, or telemarketing) preferred
- Candidates should possess skills in Insurance, including understanding of policy types, coverage options, and basic underwriting concepts preferred but not required
- Candidates should ideally have a high school diploma or equivalent; a college degree and appropriate state insurance licenses (or willingness to obtain them) are preferred
