Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to manage and execute Government Building and Civil Construction Projects. The candidate will be responsible for overall project planning, execution, coordination, quality, safety, progress monitoring and timely completion of the project as per approved drawings, specifications and contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Overall planning, execution and management of government building construction projects.
• Coordinate with Government departments, engineers, consultants, architects and other stakeholders.
• Manage site activities including civil, structural, finishing and associated works.
• Monitor project progress against approved schedules and milestones.
• Plan and coordinate manpower, materials, machinery and subcontractors.
• Ensure work is executed as per approved drawings, specifications, BOQ and contract conditions.
• Review drawings and coordinate with consultants for technical clarifications.
• Monitor quality of construction work and ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Ensure proper implementation of health, safety and environmental requirements at site.
• Prepare and review project progress reports, measurements and work schedules.
• Coordinate with billing and quantity-surveying teams for measurements, RA bills and variations.
• Monitor material procurement and ensure timely availability at site.
• Identify project risks, delays and technical issues and take corrective action.
• Manage subcontractors and ensure timely completion of assigned works.
• Attend project review meetings with Government authorities and consultants.
• Maintain proper project documentation, records and correspondence.
• Ensure completion, testing, snag rectification and handover of the project.

Required Experience

• 815 years of relevant experience in Civil Construction / Building Projects.
• Experience in Government Building Projects is preferred.
• Experience working with Central Government / State Government / PSU / Government Departments will be an advantage.
• Candidates should have experience managing complete projects from commencement through completion and handover.
• Experience in handling contractors, consultants, government officials and multiple site teams.

Educational Qualification

• B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Relevant professional certifications will be an advantage.

Required Skills

• Strong project planning and execution skills.
• Good knowledge of civil construction methods and building works.
• Knowledge of BOQ, drawings, specifications, measurements and billing.
• Ability to manage manpower, subcontractors and site resources.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to handle Government authorities and project consultants.
• Knowledge of MS Excel, MS Project / Primavera or similar project management software is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Candidates with proven experience in Government Building / Institutional / Infrastructure Construction Projects will be preferred.
