Job Description
Summary: St. Vincent’s Health System is a trusted provider of health care in Alabama, serving the community for over 125 years. They are seeking a Cath Lab Tech Intern to transition students and recent graduates into permanent roles while providing formalized training and mentorship in invasive cardiovascular procedural areas.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with preparation and setup of cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, and structural heart procedures
- Support physicians and advanced practice providers during invasive procedures
- Perform imaging functions under supervision consistent with educational pathway and regulatory standards
- Assist with hemodynamic monitoring and documentation
- Maintain sterile field and procedural workflow
- Prepare and position patients, ensuring safety and comfort
- Adhere to radiation safety standards and infection prevention protocols
- Participate in call coverage as competency milestones are achieved
- Complete required educational modules and certification preparation activities
Required Qualifications:
- Registry eligible for ARRT, RCIS, certified surgical technologist or other applicable credential (if pathway requires)
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted
- Candidates must be within one (1) year of graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- Candidates must be within one (1) year of graduation from an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program
- Candidates must be within one (1) year of graduation from an accredited Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist program
- Candidates must be within one (1) year of graduation from an accredited Electrophysiology Technology program
- Candidates must be within one (1) year of graduation from an accredited Interventional Radiology program
- Candidates must be within one (1) year of graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program
