Job Description
Summary: SRM is seeking a detail-driven, collaborative Project Engineer to help keep their construction projects running seamlessly. The role involves managing information flow, coordinating subcontractors, supporting site operations, and ensuring work is completed efficiently and safely while partnering closely with Project Managers and Superintendents.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the flow of documentation - RFIs, submittals, and change orders
- Review submittals for accuracy and compliance before they go out
- Keep logs current and follow up with the right people to make sure deadlines stay on track
- Maintain hard copies of contracts and other records so the team always has what they need at their fingertips
- Capture and organize project photos and videos for internal updates and marketing
- Gather and track subcontractor pricing for potential change orders
- Update the Change Order Log regularly and make sure cost impacts are flagged quickly
- Keep communication clear between the field and the office when changes come up
- Collaborate with Superintendents to plan and run subcontractor meetings
- Take notes, track action items, and send out Site Instruction Summaries so everyone leaves with clarity
- Follow up on open items to make sure things don’t stall out
- Stay on top of jobsite postings, safety notifications, and subcontractor safety programs
- Work with Superintendents and Foremen to keep safety documentation organized and accessible
- Ensure compliance requirements are met
- Manage Certified Payroll requirement
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field; equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- 1–3 years of construction experience
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts
- Strong organizational skills with clear, professional communication
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiar with multi-family or high-rise construction projects
- Certifications such as OSHA 30, LEED, etc
- Familiar with Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software
- Experience with Certified Payroll requirements
