Job Description
Summary: SQUID3 Space is launching an active thermal control payload to the ISS as part of MISSE-23 in 2026. This internship position involves designing, developing, and owning the software for autonomous operation of the ISS payload, including developing and testing flight PCBs and hardware.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement and own mission critical software applications for ISS payload
- Perform unit testing, integration testing, and system-level testing of software components, identifying and resolving any defects or issues
Required Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizens or Lawful Permanent Residents only
- 2+ years of embedded systems software project experience
- Junior, Senior or Master's students in CS, EE or equivalent
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python and C++
- Experience with real time systems and sensors data logging
- Knowledge of embedded Linux operating systems
- Familiarity with communications protocols, such as RS-422, RS-485
- Experience with software integration, testing, and validation for real-time and distributed systems
- Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP) and secure communication systems
