Job Description
The Physician Assistant will provide comprehensive clinical care to patients undergoing cardiothoracic surgical procedures, working closely with cardiothoracic surgeons and the healthcare team. Responsibilities include patient evaluation, assisting with procedures, postoperative management, patient education, and coordination of care to support optimal outcomes.

Pre-Employment Requirements:
- We are a drug free facility. Passing a pre-employment drug screening is required.
Job Qualifications/Requirements:
- Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant.
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification for Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- ACLS certification.
- Current DEA registration required.
- Cardiac Surgery experience preferred.
Job Responsibilities:
- Performs surgical asepsis including scrubbing, gowning, gloving, and monitoring aseptic technique.
- Performs preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care.
- First assists cardiothoracic surgeon in the operating room.
- Performs endoscopic saphenous vein and radial artery harvesting.
- Removes chest tubes, drains, pacemaker wires, and assesses and treats incision sites.
- Performs and participates in daily rounds.
- Hospital and surgical call responsibilities.
- Clinic responsibilities.
