Job Description
Summary: Spark Car Wash is a rapidly growing company focused on delivering exceptional car wash services in the Northeast. They are seeking a Field Technician to ensure facilities are maintained through a comprehensive maintenance and repair program, which includes troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, managing inventory, and collaborating with vendors.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure General Managers and teams complete daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance checklists accurately and consistently
- Maintain maintenance schedules for all equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, and water system issues
- Uphold a clean, safe work environment by enforcing Spark's safety policies and procedures
- Track and manage inventory of parts, tools, and key equipment components
- Collaborate with third-party vendors to procure equipment, schedule service, and manage relationships
- Assist with equipment delivery and setup during new store openings or remodels, working closely with the Real Estate, Construction, and Operations teams
- Document and report on all equipment downtime, repair activity, and facility-related concerns
- Working with the Operations team members on additionally assigned duties
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in troubleshooting and maintaining: Electrical Systems: VFDs, relays, sensors, switches, three-phase motors, etc
- Pneumatics & Hydraulics: solenoids, regulators, valves, compressors, pumps
- Mechanical Components: conveyors, bearings, gearboxes, welding, etc
- Water Systems: reclaim, RO systems, boilers, softeners
- Preventative maintenance experience across multiple system types
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities
- Expected to be accessible by phone during operating hours and on call as scheduled
- Availability to respond to time-sensitive repair needs including nights and weekends
- Willingness to travel throughout NJ, NY, and PA with overnight travel 25% of the time
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet the company's Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) requirements for operating company vehicles
- Basic computer proficiency
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to work in a variety of weather conditions both indoors and outdoors
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and perform physical tasks as required
- Bending, squatting, kneeling, and climbing stairs or ladders
- Walk and stand for prolonged periods of time
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
