Job Description
Summary: SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. As an Integration & Test Engineer for Starlink propulsion, you will develop, implement, and optimize production processes for key sub-assemblies and components of the propulsion system, ensuring that satellites achieve their mission.
Responsibilities:
- Manage integration build flow and test operations
- Evaluate proposed designs for manufacturability and integration
- Interface with both engineers and technicians to optimize manufacturing and automation
- Regularly challenge each process, part, and operation while working closely with design/development engineers to create the most manufacturable and reliable satellite hardware possible
- Maintain a sense of holistic ownership over the production line including process consistency, quality, tooling, capital equipment, ergonomics, and safety
- Enable day-to-day execution of the vehicle integration and test flow
- Evaluate non-conformances to determine root cause and create actionable items and system improvements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
- 1+ years of hands-on fabrication, assembly, testing, and/or project management experience via internships, labs, clubs, extracurricular activities, or professional industry experience
- Some travel to our launch sites may be required as needed, up to 10%
- Must be willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with integration and testing of propulsion, thermal, electrical, and/or structural systems
- Understanding of test methods/setups and data acquisition systems
- Experience working with composites and integration of avionics systems
- Documentation and configuration management experience
- Experience writing test plans, and procedures and providing go/no-go judgment and rationale
- Experience in a production environment
- Demonstrated engineering intuition, critical thinking, and comfort with ambiguity
- Experience with 3D CAD software (e.g.NX, SolidWorks, CATIA, or Autodesk Inventor) for design, modeling, and manufacturing applications
