Integration & Test Engineer (Starlink Propulsion) at SpaceX · Redmond

As an Integration & Test Engineer for Starlink propulsion, you will develop, implement, and optimize production processes for key sub-assemblies and components of the propulsion system, ensuring that satellites achieve their mission. Responsibilities: - Manage integration build flow and test operations - Evaluate proposed designs for manufacturability and integration - Interface with both engineers and technicians to optimize manufacturing and automation - Regularly challenge each process, part, and operation while working closely with design/development engineers to create the most manufacturable and reliable satellite hardware possible - Maintain a sense of holistic ownership over the production line including process consistency, quality, tooling, capital equipment, ergonomics, and safety - Enable day-to-day execution of the vehicle integration and test flow - Evaluate non-conformances to determine root cause and create actionable items and system improvements Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline - 1+ years of hands-on fabrication, assembly, testing, and/or project management experience via internships, labs, clubs, extracurricular activities, or professional industry experience - Some travel to our launch sites may be required as needed, up to 10% - Must be willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with integration and testing of propulsion, thermal, electrical, and/or structural systems - Understanding of test methods/setups and data acquisition systems - Experience working with composites and integration of avionics systems - Documentation and configuration management experience - Experience writing test plans, and procedures and providing go/no-go judgment and rationale - Experience in a production environment - Demonstrated engineering intuition, critical thinking, and comfort with ambiguity - Experience with 3D CAD software (e.g.NX, SolidWorks, CATIA, or Autodesk Inventor) for design, modeling, and manufacturing applications Required Skills: Integration, testing of propulsion systems, testing of thermal systems, testing of electrical systems, testing of structural systems, Test methods, setups, Data acquisition systems, Composites, Avionics systems integration, configuration management, Test plan, procedure writing, Go/no-go judgment, Production environment experience, 3D CAD software, Engineering intuition, Comfort with ambiguity Benefits: Long-term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, Potential discretionary bonuses, Ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, 401(k) retirement plan, Short and long-term disability insurance, Life insurance, Paid parental leave, Various other discounts and perks, 3 weeks of paid vacation, 10 or more paid holidays per year, Paid sick time in compliance with state and federal law, Company shuttles are offered to employees for roundtrip travel from select Seattle locations to the SpaceX Redmond office Monday to Friday
