As a Manufacturing Engineer Intern, you will assist in engineering activities that support design or process improvement for the Division, contributing to the development of prototypes for space technology. Responsibilities: - Assist in engineering activities that support design or process improvement for the Division - Be a driving force for continuous improvement of the facility while working with all levels of the organization - Make layouts and detail drawings of equipment assigned - Evaluates various equipment and methods and points out advantages, disadvantages and production capabilities - Recommends the purchase items needed to keep equipment properly maintained - Checks on process capabilities of equipment designed to see that it is properly maintained - Keeps up to date of all new developments in equipment or processes that could be adapted to improve manufacturing processes - Work assignments may include cross-functional or project team responsibilities - Contributes and supports other teams or individuals as needed Required Qualifications: - Currently enrolled for a Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Electrical Engineering degree from an accredited college or university - Must be a recent college graduate OR graduate within the last semester of your program - Analytical, problem-solving, and electrical skills are required - Comfortable working in a fast-paced, self-driven, rapidly growing entrepreneurial workplace - Ability to work with minimal direction or support and to learn quickly; strong analytical skills; creative and innovative thinking; detail-oriented; calm under pressure; commitment to follow-through; enthusiastic with a talent for motivating others; receptive to criticism and open to others' ideas; and effective in written communication - To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder) - Ability to maintain or obtain Government Security Clearance Preferred Qualifications: - Knowledge and experience with CAD and AM data preparations software (e.g. SolidWorks, Magics, ANSYS Additive Print, etc.) - Passion for the commercial and government space industry - Passion for spacecraft or launch vehicle system development Required Skills: Electrical skills, CAD software, Additive manufacturing data preparation software, SolidWorks, Magics, ANSYS Additive Print, Government Security Clearance, Analytical skills, Creative, innovative thinking, Commitment to follow-through, Calm under pressure, Effective written communication
