Job Description
Summary: The Southern Poverty Law Center is seeking enthusiastic IT interns with a focus on cybersecurity. The role involves supporting the Information Technology team by resolving cybersecurity-related issues, collaborating with stakeholders, and maintaining IT documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with employees and vendors to investigate, identify, and resolve cybersecurity related service desk tickets
- Translate business requirements and collaborate with stakeholders on solution designs
- Create and maintain documentation for IT processes and applications
- Provide functional advice and training to employees on IT systems and applications
- Analyze emails, files, links, or software for malware or data loss
- Conduct vulnerability management scans and apply security patch updates
- Monitor activity logs and system alerts for security incidents and perform incident response actions
- Uphold our JEDI principles by seeking diverse collaborators and partners that can deliver genuine, authentic and impactful work while ensuring their contributions are directed towards the shared mission, vision and values of the center and department’s goals
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an Information Technology related field, at least a 2-year student
- Effective communication skills
- Strong work ethic
- Attention to detail
- Ability to support the Information Technology team by providing reliable and secure access to information processing systems, applications, and data
- Demonstrate an awareness for SPLC's mission, vision and values
